Steps to Register as a Nurse in New Zealand

Verify Documents with TruMerit:Verify your identity, qualifications, registration history, English proficiency, and 1,800 hours of nursing experience.
Apply to the Nursing Council :Submit verified documents.Complete Welcome to Aotearoa New Zealand and Cultural Safety online courses. Undergo fitness-to-practise and criminal history checks. Complete a competence assessment if required.
IQN Theoretical Exam:Sit the IQN Exam (Part A: Medication Safety, Part B: Nursing Knowledge). Conducted by Pearson VUE in New Zealand or overseas.
Clinical Assessment (OSCE) :Attend orientation in New Zealand. Registration Approval: After passing all stages, the Nursing Council grants New Zealand registration

Qualification
B.Sc. / Post B.Sc. / M.Sc. / GCAN in Nursing

Work Experience
A minimum of 1 year of professional nursing experience is required.

English Language Requirements:

Any one of the below tests are acceptable
IELTS : minimum score of 7 for reading, listening, and speaking and a minimum score of 6.5 for writing.
OET minimum score of 350 for reading, listening, and speaking; and a minimum score of 300 for writing.
